Village Green Utility and Roadway Improvement Program
The Plainfield Village Green project is a multi-year Utility and Roadway Improvement Program in the Village’s Central Business District.
Year 1 – Sanitary Sewer Improvements
The Village lined approximately 5,700 lf of mainline sewers and 4,000 of 6-inch sanitary sewer services with CIPP (cured-in-place-piping) and installed new private property clean outs, manhole lining and manhole replacement.
Year 2- Underground Utility Improvements
The Village replaced approximately 5,100 lf of water main, 4,650 lf of new water services (including lead water service replacement), additional 673’ of new sanitary sewer, and 4,372 feet of new storm sewer sizes ranging from 12-inch to 42-inch.
Year 3 – 2020 Village Green Improvements
The Village will complete the final year of improvements by rehabbing one of the oldest subdivisions in Plainfield, just south of the downtown area and west of Rt. 59. The work will include a total of almost 7,000 lineal feet of improvements, which will include, new curb and gutter, storm structures, new asphalt pavement and driveway aprons, decorative concrete sidewalks, new street lighting, and sodded parkways.
