US DOT Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Funding Opportunity
T​​​he United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) has opened the third funding opportunity within this discretionary program established by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). Upcoming opportunity to submit:

Third and Final deadline for Planning and Demonstration Grants

Who Can Apply?
Counties, cities, towns, transit agencies, other special districts, and federally recognized Tribal governments.

Planning and Demonstration Grants provide funding for:

  • Creating a new Safety Action Plan, such as a Comprehensive Safety Plan, Bike and Pedestrian Plan, or Vision Zero Plan.
  • Updating an existing Safety Action Plan.
  • Supporting other supplementary planning activities for a Safety Action Plan.
  • Conducting Demonstration Projects, which may include quick-build/temporary improvements (like temporary bump outs, traffic circles, bike lanes, etc.).
  • Carrying out engineering studies, such as evaluating traffic signal or stop sign warrants, conducting speed limit analysis, installing accessible pedestrian signals, and more.
