The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is one of the largest investments in our nation’s infrastructure. The $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill was signed into law on November 15, 2021. The new infrastructure package will deliver $550 billion of federal investment in America’s infrastructure over five years in the following categories:
- Water – $55 billion for clean water, infrastructure, and elimination of lead service pipes
- Internet – $65 billion for high speed internet
- Roads – $110 billion for repair and rebuilding roads and bridges
- Public Transit – $89.9 billion to improve public transportation
- Airports – $25 billion to address repairs and maintenance in airports
- Ports – $17 billion to improve port infrastructure
- Rail – $66 billion in rail maintenance and modernization
- Electric Vehicle Chargers – $7.5 billion for a nation network of Electric Vehicle chargers
- Power – $65 billion in clean energy transmission
- Resilient Infrastructure – $50 billion to improve resiliency to cyberattacks, climate change and extreme weather events
- Superfund and Brownfield Sites – $21 billion for clean up of Superfund and brownfield sites
