Water System Model and Master Plan
Baxter & Woodman assisted the City with developing a WaterGEMS hydraulic water model in order to identify and prioritize future water system projects. The City experiences 250 main breaks a year and one of the primary goals of the water model project is to establish a long term infrastructure replacement plan.
The water model simulated over 650 miles of water main. The water model was based on the City’s Water System GIS, which Baxter & Woodman has updated working with City staff to create data that is water model compatible. We also hosted a workshop with water department staff to review GIS updates and provide input on missing water system data. The water model was used to identify strengths and weaknesses in the City’s distribution system.
A final report was delivered to the City incorporating the findings and recommendations from the water model analysis.
