Derek Wold named Chief Operating Officer
Baxter & Woodman, Inc. is pleased to announce the promotion of Derek J. Wold, PE, BCEE, to Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Since joining the firm in 1996, Wold has served in several key leadership roles, including Executive Vice President and leader of the Water Group. Over his 29-year career with Baxter & Woodman, he has helped drive strategic growth across the company’s service areas and geographic footprint. He has also played a pivotal role in the firm’s global expansion, including the successful development of Baxter & Woodman Costa Rica, which has extended the company’s international presence while maintaining its high standards of quality and innovation.
In his new role, Wold will oversee day-to-day operations across all departments, with a focus on streamlining internal processes, enhancing project management and delivery, and supporting firmwide operational excellence.

He holds a M.S. in Environmental Engineering (2002) from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Civil Engineering (1996) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Wold is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Florida, and Texas and is a Board-Certified Environmental Engineer.
